Thermosiphoning as a Viable Option for Solar Thermal Heat Delivery
Hot water rises. When a solar thermal panel is placed lower than the hot water tank, the sun heats the water, and a natural flow occurs that delivers the sun’s heat to the water tank within your house. A standard solar thermal installation takes place on the roof of a home and a pump and a differential controller are needed for pushing the hot water down into the water tank within the house. Our research aims to provide a low-cost design so developing countries can afford to implement thermosiphon solar thermal technology to better the lives of their people.
